Alexander Stamatiadis is a Greek/German filmmaker born in Athens (1999). He spent his early years making music, photography, and films independently. After studying business at Athens University of Economics & Business he returned to filmmaking in his childhood city. Since then, he earned recognition through his directorial work with artists ‘Good Job Nicky’, Giorgos Mazonakis, ‘Leon of Athens’ et al. His dance short film, THORN (2022), was selected at PÖFF Shorts, part of Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (Estonia, 2022) and at Aesthetica Short Film Festival (York, 2022). Other festivals include, Cinedans (Netherlands, 2024) and InShadow (Portugal, 2022). Nowadays, he’s in the pre-production phase of his narrative short film, “I Love you, I’m Leaving”, produced by Topcut-Modiano, cinematography by Thimios Bakatakis.
